Become an Orchestra member

We are especially looking for string players, but other sections also have openings. We have weekly rehearsals on Thursdays. E-mail us and tell us who you are, and we will arrange for an audition.

We take our music seriously, but we are also a fun group (for a bunch of musicians …)!

Become a Chorus member

We’d like to hear your voice. To arrange for an audition, e-mail us. We’re especially looking for tenors, but all are welcome! We have weekly rehearsals on Tuesdays, currently in Eagan.

  • Q. How many choirs get to sing with a symphony orchestra?
  • A. Not many, but we do all the time, and we really like it!

Volunteer

We’re looking for volunteers!

Keeping an orchestra and chorus going is a lot of work, especially in a mostly volunteer organization. We need volunteer help with: stage crew, tickets and programs, stuffing envelopes, fundraising, benefit event help, and music library support.

Please consider volunteering to help the Symphony. Many tasks and duties in addition to rehearsals and performances must be done each season, and we could use your help!

Here are just a few descriptions of projects with which we could use your help:

  • Volunteer Coordination: We’re looking for someone to help organize a volunteer organization for the Dakota Valley Symphony. We promise fun!
  • Concert help: Stage setup, ticket booth, ushers, refreshment servers
  • Fundraising projects: Envelope stuffing, letter writing, helping with fundraising special events such as silent auction
  • Ongoing opportunities: Music filing, rehearsal setup

Volunteering with the Dakota Valley Symphony is rewarding. Just because you don’t play an instrument or sing doesn’t mean you can’t be part of the Symphony. We have room for everyone, including you!
