Symphony Information
Symphony Conductor Stephen J. Ramsey This is Stephen J. Ramsey’s 22^nd season as founding music director and conductor of the Dakota Valley Symphony and Chorus. He also directs the Dakota Valley Summer Pops Orchestra and Chorale. Ramsey is in his 14^th season as music director/conductor of the Austin Symphony Orchestra of Austin, Minnesota, and his 2^nd year as Visitation Chorale Director for Visitation Catholic Church in Minneapolis. A well-known conductor in the Minneapolis/Saint Paul area, Ramsey has led performances at many area colleges, concert halls and churches. In addition, he has served as music director/conductor for the following Twin Cities organizations: Chimera Theater Lakeshore Players Anoka-Ramsey Community College Applause Community Theatre Hamline University Health Sciences Orchestra of the University of Minnesota Ramsey earned his master of music degree in orchestral conducting from the University of Missouri — Kansas City Conservatory of Music. He has studied with Leonard Slatkin, Max Rudolph and Maurice Jones. He lives with his wife, Liz, and their three children in south Minneapolis.	Stephen J.
