Concertmaster

Andrea Sieber

Andrea is a native of the Twin Cities. She started playing violin in the fourth grade. She began private lessons in fifth grade with Anthony Gilombardo. Andrea attended numerous summer music camps, and was thrilled when she had the opportunity to serve as concertmaster under the direction of her father, Richard Sieber, at Project Music Camp the summer before her junior year in high school. In her senior year she was concertmaster for the first season of the Greater Twin Cities Youth Symphonies under Bill Jones. She also won the Thursday Musical Competition and WAMMA Competition.

Andrea’s college career included freshman year at the University of Minnesota, sophomore year at Indiana University, and a summer of study with John Tartaglia of the Minnesota Orchestra. She recently joined the Dakota Valley Symphony after spending 2½ years as concertmaster for the Kenwood Chamber Orchestra, under the musical direction of Kenneth Freed.
